About Jay:
Thanks for checking out my bio! My name is Jay, and I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University. I received my Bachelor’s in Fine Art at the University of Michigan.
As an LGBT+ Vietnamese-American Adoptee raised by a Jewish Caucasian family, my goal as a therapist is to provide a non-judgmental and supportive environment that supports you and your unique identity.
I have a deep understanding of the social pressures and stressors that affect issues like substance abuse, panic attacks, self-harm, difficult relationship patterns, and intrusive thoughts, particularly for LGBTQ+ individuals.
My approach to working with you is based on respect and open-mindedness. I prioritize understanding your unique cultural background, identity, and intersectional experiences to understand how these factors shape your worldview and influence your challenges and strengths. My therapeutic style is grounded in fostering a safe and trusting environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment.
Meeting with a new therapist can feel overwhelming. When you’re ready to schedule an appointment with me, please contact our Care Coordinator team. I look forward to meeting with you!
