About Owen:

I am a Chinese/Burmese Asian American who grew up in Zambia, China, Singapore, and Los Angeles and spent many years around Southeast Asia and Africa. As a nonbinary clinician, I have a special connection with the intersection of queer identity and multiculturalism and hope to help others in their identity journeys as they encounter systemic, cultural, and/or personal challenges. I’ve worked in residential homes for dependent adults, provided care for seniors with dementia, educated university students on the gender spectrum, and provided respite childcare for disabled kids. I have a passion for multicultural therapy in which a client’s cultural background is acknowledged to be important in the therapeutic process.

I have always had an affinity towards intimacy therapy and narrative therapy and the way humans connect with one another. I believe that learning about one’s attachment styles and addressing core traumas can help us develop skills that can be applied to various areas in life. My goal is to help my clients discover a sense of empowerment to live the life they would like to have. Growth is a core value of mine, and I would be honored to help queer-identifying people and those from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds tap into their inner strength to overcome challenges.

Outside of my international lived experiences, I love dancing, playing video games, and watching low-budget movies and have two guinea pigs who are the loves of my life. Having struggled with chronic physical illness, I have worked on finding the balance between fun and rest and supported others in this area. I would be honored to have an opportunity to work with you in increasing a sense of meaning and purpose in your life and relationships.

To schedule an appointment with me, reach out to our Care Coordinator team, and they will help you with next steps. It can be hard to ask for help, but taking the first step in finding support can be life changing. I look forward to working with you!
